Maggie Hsiao

Maggie (Mei-Chuan) Hsiao is a visual artist who has been involved with Sangini since 2018, where she has initiated and organised outreach projects for women with well-being needs and led craft workshops for diverse cultural groups and served as a board trustee until 2021. Mrs. Hsiao has also led workshops in various art and craft techniques, for other community groups, including Sunderland Women's Art Group, FODI (Friends of the Drop-in), Donnison School Monday Craft Group and ICOS (International Community Organisation of Sunderland) Women's Group. Her art practice utilises a variety of media, including drawing, watercolour and 3D work, particularly textile felting. Maggie’s work has been included in exhibitions at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Sunderland Art Museum, The Customs House gallery and the Newbridge Project.
