Tracey West

Tracey West is an experienced dance practitioner who has delivered a weekly dance session for Friends of the Drop-In (FODI) members for five years and has co-created a positive collaborative space that is a model for community dance.

Using authentic movement, choreography, improvisation and sound, Tracey leads workshops for other community organisations including Headway Arts and Helix Arts. She also works on several artist-led initiatives: Braena C.I.C, Art Works North East and Dikkadooey, to support underrepresented communities, mentor emerging creatives embedded within the communities her projects serve, and promote diversity in dance. Tracey’s approach uses improvisations that are fun and accessible to all ages, abilities, genders and cultures. She supports participants to develop skills that lead to inner strength and certainty of purpose.
